Lead single “A Sort Of Homecoming” and “Pride” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Self-described as Pop: Pop-Rock with lots of words, U2 comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. U2 was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from U2 and The Unforgettable Fire together. The Unforgettable Fire constantly brilliant.
Pride - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Wire - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. The sound of The Unforgettable Fire is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. U2 is one of artists that allow his songs like Promenade to stand on their own and be heard. 4Th Of July is exquisite song though, very addictive. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Still going through The Unforgettable Fire and coming to appreciate Indian Summer Sky more and more with every listen. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Mlk is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day.
