Now signed to U2’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “18 Singles” leads U2’s back-to-school campaign. This -song debut EP shows the promise that U2 has. U2’s debut, ‘18 Singles’, does not fit easily into one genre. Great Rock right here!
This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. First time I heard With Or Without You was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. This track is a great song that still never gets old. The sound of New Year’s Day is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Mysterious Ways is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Where The Streets Have No Name hits the heart. Sweetest Thing is the first taste of the new album. U2 has astounded me with this amazing track. One which is my favorite is a truly U2 sounding song. You have to get essence of the Desire’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Walk On - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Elevation is a very catchy tune. Nice and different song. The Saints Are Coming is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after 18 Singles have ended. Window In The Skies - A nice song.
