This disc has all of the essential The White Stripes classics. Get Behind Me Satan isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. John Digester has compared writing for The White Stripes’s new album to that on ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This album is awesome.
One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Nurse. My Doorbell - This is a very lively song. Forever for Her (Is Over for Me) - My least favorite song on this album. Little Ghost is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Denial Twist is a good listen every once in a while. White Moon good vocals. This track is full of harmonies and gets Get Behind Me Satan off to a relaxing start. The White Stripes sings his heart out in Passive Manipulation. Take, Take, Take gives taste of what makes The White Stripes special as a musician. Musically As Ugly as I Seem is superior to other tracks in Get Behind Me Satan. Red Rain - a classic song. I’m Lonely (But I Ain’t That Lonely Yet) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Though I Hear You Calling, I Will Not Answer is nothing but pure genius. As always, The White Stripes’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
