There were many famous songs of The Strokes available. It’s natural for The Strokes to take a stab at ‘Is This It’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. Now signed to The Strokes’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Is This It” leads The Strokes’s back-to-school campaign. Overall, I would highly recommend Is This It CD.
After about the third The Modern Age listen through, I began to believe this song is The Strokes’s essence. In Soma you won’t find any flashy solos. Barely Legal is probably the most interesting track on Is This It. Someday - This is a very lively song. Some of the arrangements found on Is This It are surprisingly edgy. Last Nite (3:18) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Hard To Explain is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. The sound in New York City Cops is really warm and The Strokes’s signature voice is still very much present. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. The Strokes has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving.
