The Very Best Of isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. On The Very Best Of album, The Stone Roses have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new The Stone Roses album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2002 tour in Europe. The Stone Roses is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Charming song, great melody. Ten Story Love Song is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track The Stone Roses ever produced. The sound in Waterfall is really warm and The Stone Roses’s signature voice is still very much present. Overall a nice softer song. Love Spreads is a medium tempo tune. What The World Is Waiting For is a perfect song and it grows on you. Sally Cinnamon had me crying as I was able to relate so well. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Very Best Of off to a relaxing start. The song Begging You ending is my favorite… so catchy! Elephant Stone is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. In Breaking Into Heaven the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. One Love is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Very Best Of. This is probably my favorite song on the album. The Stone Roses emotions are reflected through I Am The Resurrection.
