It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Smashing Pumpkins energies, virtually a rebirth. Now signed to The Smashing Pumpkins’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Greatest Hits - Rotten Apples CD1″ leads The Smashing Pumpkins’s back-to-school campaign. Greatest Hits - Rotten Apples CD1 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Exciting stuff.
This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Bullet with Butterfly Wings good vocals. Cherub Rock - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Disarm has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets The Smashing Pumpkins’s strong vocals come to the fore. I now have Drown as one of my personal favorites. In Eye you won’t find any flashy solos. Perfect - The Smashing Pumpkins first major hit. Real Love - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. I love the melodic melody of Rhinocerous and to this day it makes me feel good. Siva (4:21) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Stand Inside Your Love is one of these floating songs. This song is dynamic and dramatic. The Smashing Pumpkins sings Today in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Song Tonight, Tonight is actually a funny song. Try, Try, Try is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Untitled is nothing but pure genius. Zero is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined.
