Since The Proclaimers last CD (Best of) on SixSteps records back in 2007, I have felt a massive void in my life. There were many famous songs of The Proclaimers available. Best of isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is The Light
The Proclaimers rocks harder than ever with The Light. Make My Heart Fly is a striking and quite long song. After about the third Lady Luck listen through, I began to believe this song is The Proclaimers’s essence. Act Of Remembrance is astounding. Once I Want To Be A Christian gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Cap In Hand is a astounding, simple song by The Proclaimers at the top of his game. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Sunshine On Leith is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Best of is Throw The ‘R’ Away. Ghost Of Love is exquisite song though, very addictive. As always, The Proclaimers’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. King Of The Road is such a amazing and optimistic song that things can get just better. From the moment you listen to The Doodle Song you’re hooked. Letter From America (Acoustic Version) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. The song There’s A Touch ending is my favorite… so catchy! Let’s Get Married is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. The Proclaimers sings his heart out in I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles). Oh Jean - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody.
