After debuting at No. 1 last week, The National’s album Boxer falls to No. 2 with 190,000, a sales slide of 86%. This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that The National has. The National had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Mistaken For Strangers is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Such hits like Brainy will leave you hooked. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Squalor Victoria. Green Gloves is the song that really did it for me. After few listenings I started to like Slow Show more and more. Apartment Story is perfect work of The National. Boxer couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Start a War. I can’t stop humming along Guest Room. I loved Racing Like a Pro the first time I heard it. ADA is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Gospel is another strong production from The National.
