(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone - This one makes me want to not only sing along. I Wanna Be Free presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees. Simple and heartfelt closing track A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You closes Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees on a high note. She hits the heart. Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Randy Scouse Git. Mary, Mary motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. I like The Girl I Knew Somewhere because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Forget That Girl was the first single release from the album Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees. For Pete’s Sake is almost impossible to review. One listen to the sheer beauty of Pleasant Valley Sunday was all I needed. Listen To The Band (Single Version) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Daily Nightly (Alternate Mix) is my favorite song on Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees. I can’t stop humming along Cuddly Toy. Words is simple, dignified and effective, The Monkees refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. When I listen to Love Is Only Sleeping (Alternate Mix) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Here They Come: The Greatest Hits Of The Monkees. D.W. Washburn sets the tone for the entire album. If you are a The Monkees fan, you will love It’s Nice To Be With You. Porpoise Song (Theme From ‘Head’) (Single Version) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Tear Drop City. Song Valleri is actually a funny song.
