For older fans London Calling will put a massive smile accross your face. Stanley Donwood has compared writing for The Clash’s new album to that on ‘London Calling’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. The Clash’s debut, ‘London Calling’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Clampdown is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Death Or Glory good vocals. The first time I listened to Four Horsemen I was struck by its astounding sound. Hateful is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. The song feels complete. Jimmy Jazz has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets The Clash’s strong vocals come to the fore. I like to sing along with Koka Kola, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Opening track London Calling shows the best of The Clash. Lost In The Supermarket (3:50) a good melody. A fantastic track full of wonder. Vocals of The Clash in Revolution Rock really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Spanish Bombs presents the perfect mix of instruments on London Calling. The Card Cheat is really the reason why I recommend buying London Calling. The Guns Of Brixton (3:14) - awsome. The Right Profile is one of the best records ever. Train In Vain marked the continuation of The Clash in style evolution. This track is full of harmonies and gets London Calling off to a relaxing start.
