This album has some very good songs like Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, IL and Black Hawk War, The. On the India charts, superstar Sufjan Stevens’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. While no new Sufjan Stevens album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2005 tour in Africa. Illinois is not something you should pass up.
Black Hawk War, The stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Come On! Feel The Illinoise! is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Illinois. Jacksonville gives good insight into the truths. No Sufjan Stevens song has come close to capturing my attention as A Short Reprise for Mary Todd Who Went Insane, but for Very Good Reasons did. I think Decatur is the best song Sufjan Stevens has ever done. One Last Woo-Hoo for the Pullman is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Illinois. The sound in Chicago is really warm and Sufjan Stevens’s signature voice is still very much present. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. To the Workers of the Rockford River Valley Region - A catchy, upbeat tune. Sufjan Stevens offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Sufjan Stevens has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Voice and instruments in They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From the Dead complement each other. Let’s Hear That String Part Again… is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. In This Temple, as in the Hearts of Manm for Whom He Saved the Earth has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Seer’s Tower, The - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. The Tallest Man, the Broadest Shoulders is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Riffs and Variations on a Single Note is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Out Of Egypt is worth the money.
