This disc has all of the essential Stevie Ray Vaughan classics. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Stevie Ray Vaughan comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. It’s natural for Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a stab at ‘Shake For Me (Live)’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. Last Hot Album by Stevie Ray Vaughan
Rude Mood / Hide Away (Live) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Love Struck Baby - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Pride and Joy presents the marvelous mix of instruments on The Essential (CD 1). Stevie Ray Vaughan emotions are reflected through Texas Flood. Excellent vocals and musical performances. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Scuttle Buttin’ (1:51) - awsome. Couldn’t Stand The Weather to me is the best you can get from Stevie Ray Vaughan. The Things (That I Used To Do) is a strong cut, one of many. Music in Cold Shot is excellent as in all tracks of The Essential (CD 1). Tin Pan Alley (a.k.a. Roughest Place In Town) one of the best in my collection. Give Me Back My Wig is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Empty Arms sets the tone for the entire album. The Sky Is Crying (Live) catches attention immediately, Voodoo Child (Slight Return; a.k.a. Roughest Place In Town) is the funkiest number on the album.
