I am not a real Soundtrack music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Across The Universe’ really is amazing. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Soundtrack - Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘Across The Universe’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since Soundtrack - Various Artists last CD (Across The Universe) on Columbia Records back in 2007, I have felt a massive void in my life. If I may, I suggest “All My Loving (Jim Sturgess)”. That one song is amazing!
The opening track I Want To Hold Your Hand (T.V. Carpio) is very much like you would expect from other albums. The first time I listened to It Won’t Be Long (Evan Rachel Wood) I was struck by its gorgeous sound. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Let It Be (Carol Woods And Timothy T. Mitchum) is a good listen every once in a while. Album opener Come Together (Joe Cocker) is a bright, upbeat ditty. Overall a nice softer song. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Oh! Darling (Dana Fuchs And Martin Luther McCoy) - arguably the best track on Across The Universe album. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Across The Universe (Jim Sturgess) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Across The Universe. Helter Skelter (Dana Fuchs) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Happiness Is A Warm Gun (Joe Anderson Feat. Salma Hayek) is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. When I listen to Blackbird (Evan Rachel Wood) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Across The Universe is Hey Jude (Joe Anderson). Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (Bono With Background Vocals BY The Edge) is nothing but pure genius.
