Promised You A Miracle - To me, this is the best song on the The Best Of (CD 1). Waterfront is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Alive and Kicking is a strong cut, one of many. Glittering Prize is a cool sing-along. All The Things She Said still maintains something of a specific flourish. Sanctify Yourself is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Someone Somewhere (In Summertime) is a very catchy tune. Ghostdancing gives taste of what makes Simple Minds special as a musician. Once you hear Up On The Catwalk, you will listen to it over and over. I find myself hearing bits of Speed Your Love To Me here and there throughout my waking hours. Theme For Great Cities is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Love Song is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. The American - My least favorite song on this album. Strong, powerful vocals of Simple Minds in Sweat In Bullet are very impressive. Life In A Day is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
