It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Robert Johnson energies, virtually a rebirth. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Robert Johnson on ‘Cross Road Blues’. ‘King of the Delta Blues’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like King of the Delta Blues.
Traveling Riverside Blues I just LOVE this mix! Walking Blues has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Dust My Broom is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Hellhound on My Trail - A strong beat. Kindhearted Woman Blues is astounding. Robert Johnson must have run out of lyrics on the next track Rambling on My Mind. Music and lyrics of Stop Breakin’ Down Blues creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Music in Come on in My Kitchen is cool as in all tracks of King of the Delta Blues. Robert Johnson rocks harder than ever with 32-20 Blues. From Four Till Late - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. I’m a Steady Rollin’ Man is outstanding work of Robert Johnson. Overall a nice softer song. Terraplane Blues is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. This is one hell of a track. Sweet Home Chicago is beautiful, yet underrated track.
