Lead single “Under the Bridge” and “Give It Away” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is the first studio album from Red Hot Chili Peppers since bad diagnosis in 1997. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Red Hot Chili Peppers’s new album to that on ‘Greatest Hits’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This album is a scorcher!
Give It Away - This is a very lively song. Californication is one of my favorite songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Scar Tissue is probably the most interesting track on Greatest Hits. Soul to Squeeze is a fine track on any terms. Otherside is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Listening to Suck My Kiss you can hear that Red Hot Chili Peppers has still amazing chemistry with band members. By the Way is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Red Hot Chili Peppers emotions are reflected through Parallel Universe. Breaking the Girl pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Higher Ground is one of these floating songs. Universally Speaking is one of the best records ever. I think Road Trippin’ is the best song Red Hot Chili Peppers has ever done. Fortune Faded is simple, dignified and effective, Red Hot Chili Peppers refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Save the Population is astounding.
