Lead single “Testify” and “Guerrilla Radio” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Rage Against The Machine’s debut, ‘The Battle Of Los Angeles’, does not fit easily into one genre. twelve years ago, Rage Against The Machine briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Guerrilla Radio”. Testify and Guerrilla Radio is really good.
Guerrilla Radio - Rage Against The Machine first major hit. Calm Like A Bomb is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Sleep Now In The Fire is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Battle Of Los Angeles. Born Of A Broken Man actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Rage Against The Machine’s face. Born As Ghosts is worth the money. Nice and different song. Rage Against The Machine must have run out of lyrics on the next track Voice Of The Voiceless. Lyrics of New Millennium Homes are precise and evocative. Ashes In The Fall - My least favorite song on this album. Still going through The Battle Of Los Angeles and coming to appreciate War Whithin A Breth more and more with every listen.
