IF YOU LIKE ALL Queen’S SONG GO FOR IT! Since Queen last CD (Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3) on EMI Records back in 2002, I have felt a massive void in my life. On the Malta charts, superstar Queen’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. One of Queen’s best albums yet.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is simple, dignified and effective, Queen refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. THE SHOW MUST GO ON (LIVE) - QUEEN & ELTON JOH (4:35) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. I came to like ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST. I like to sing along with UNDER PRESSURE (RAH MIX) - Queen & David Bowi, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Don’t judge UNDER PRESSURE - Queen & David Bowi on the first listening. BARCELONA - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caball defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Some of the arrangements found on Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3 are surprisingly edgy. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This song stands out greatly from the others. TOO MUCH LOVE WILL KILL YOU is one of the coolest songs Queen has ever recorded. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I WANT TO BREAK FREE is beautiful, yet underrated track. SOMEBODY TO LOVE (LIVE) - GEORGE MICHAEL & QUEE - A nice song. INNUENDO - FREDDIE MERCURY & WWRY ENSEMBL gives good insight into the truths. Within the first few notes of YOU DON’T FOOL ME it’s perfectly clear that Queen is living this song. YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND is the more seemingly obscure song on Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3 that bear up best to repeated listening. DON’T STOP ME NOW is a gorgeous, simple song by Queen at the top of his game. Strong, powerful vocals of Queen in HEAVEN FOR EVERYONE (SINGLE VERSION…) are very impressive. IT’S A HARD LIFE is a very catchy tune. BREAKTHRU - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. LAS PALABRAS DE AMOR (THE WORDS OF LOVE…) is a bit of a show-tune. SAVE ME one of the best in my collection. I was truly moved when I heard CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE. DRIVEN BY YOU - Brian May is simply marvelous. A unique and uplifting song. In HEADLONG the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. LIVING ON MY OWN (RADIO MIX) - Freddie Mercur is exquisite work of Queen. SOMEBODY TO LOVE - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. I can’t stop playing LET ME LIVE. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. THE MIRACLE is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. GOOD OLD FASHIONED LOVER BOY is outstanding work of Queen. I’M GOING SLIGHTLY MAD as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. THE GREAT PRETENDER - Freddie Mercur is one of the best records ever. Voice and instruments in PLAY THE GAME complement each other. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE is my favorite song on Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3. THE INVISIBLE MAN make listening to Queen like being in some sort of time warp. Song ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST - QUEEN/WYCLEF JEAN FEAT PRAS MICHEL/FRE is actually a funny song. One listen to the sheer beauty of FLASH was all I needed. HAMMER TO FALL is a perfect sing-along. FRIENDS WILL BE FRIENDS gives taste of what makes Queen special as a musician. Voice of Queen in NO ONE BUT YOU (ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG…) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I find myself hearing bits of SEVEN SEAS OF RHYE here and there throughout my waking hours. THE SHOW MUST GO ON - A classic Queen track. THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVE is probably the most interesting track on Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3. I believe WE WILL ROCK YOU is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. ONE VISION is the song that really did it for me. Queen allows each song to breathe and flourish. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS presents the cool mix of instruments on Platinum Collection, Vol. 1-3.
