fourteen years ago, Prince briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Hot Thing (Extended Remix)”. Ultimate Prince (cd2) is an amazing album, racked with beauty.This disc has all of the essential Prince classics. Ultimate Prince (cd2) is not something you should pass up.
After few listenings I started to like Hot Thing (Extended Remix) more and more. Excellent vocals and musical performances. In U Got the Look (Long Look) full palet of sound is used by Prince to accentuate the presentation. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. This track is full of harmonies and gets Ultimate Prince (cd2) off to a relaxing start. Pop Life (Fresh Dance Mix) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. This track is clearly meant to showcase Prince’s vocal abilities. Let’s Work (Dance Remix) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Let’s Go Crazy (Special Dance Mix) is just simply stunning.
