John Digester has compared writing for Pop - Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘Now Thats What I Call Music 25′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Pop - Various Artists energies, virtually a rebirth. Lead single “Home (Daughtry)” and “Wait For You (Elliott Yamin)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Wait For You (Elliott Yamin) (3:59) - awsome. I loved Before He Cheats (Carrie Underwood) the first time I heard it. I Told You So (Keith Urban) - A catchy, upbeat tune. The opening track The Great Esacpe (Boys Like Girls) is very much like you would expect from other albums. Never Again (Kelly Clarkson) is pretty funky and mellow. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I Tried (Feat. Akon) (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) is one of the best records ever. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Pop - Various Artists emotions are reflected through Pop, Lock & Drop It (Huey). Get It Shawty (Lloyd) sets the tone for the entire album. Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin’) (Feat. Yung Joc) (T-Pain) is another favourite of mine. This track is full of harmonies and gets Now Thats What I Call Music 25 off to a relaxing start. From the moment you listen to Because Of You (Ne-Yo) you’re hooked. Pop - Various Artists has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Beautiful Liar (Feat. Shakira) (Beyonce) is astounding and different song. U + Ur Hand (Pink) is worth the money. The Sweet Escape (Feat. Akon) (Gwen Stefani) is the albums biggest surprise. Girlfriend (Avril Lavigne) is probably the highlight of the album. This is one hell of a track.
