After debuting at No. 1 last week, Norah Jones’s album Come Away With Me falls to No. 2 with 172,000, a sales slide of 93%. This is one of the best Cd’s Norah Jones has dropped to date. Lead single “Don’t Know Why” and “Seven Years” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If I may, I suggest “Don’t Know Why”. That one song is amazing!
Seven Years is the albums biggest surprise. Although Cold Cold Heart is very melodic it is far from sad. Feelin’ The Same Way as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. A great put together song. Shoot The Moon - Check out that bassline! Turn Me On - A nice song. Voice of Norah Jones in Lonestar is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I listened to the opening track I’ve Got To See You Again and liked it a lot. Norah Jones emotions are reflected through Painter Song. Norah Jones sings One Flight Down in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Nightingale is amazing and different song. I loved The Long Day Is Over the first time I heard it. The Nearness Of You is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
