There is so much to love about Nirvana, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Nirvana was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Nirvana and In Utero together. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Nirvana’s album In Utero falls to No. 2 with 622,000, a sales slide of 70%. In Utero touched my soul like nothing else.
Scentless Apprentice has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Nirvana’s strong vocals come to the fore. Music in Heart-Shaped Box is astounding as in all tracks of In Utero. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Nirvana. Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Dumb has a fun tempo. Very Ape is a bit of a show-tune. Milk It is a marvelous, simple song by Nirvana at the top of his game. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. All Apologies is worth the money. In Utero couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Gallons Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip (Bonus Track).
