It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Nine Inch Nails energies, virtually a rebirth. Since completing 1994’s ‘Mr. Self Destruct’, Nine Inch Nails fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. The Downward Spiral carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. If you want to hear real Metal, get this record now!
Nine Inch Nails has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Heresy - arguably the best track on The Downward Spiral album. March Of The Pigs - This is a very lively song. I find myself hearing bits of Closer here and there throughout my waking hours. In Ruiner Nine Inch Nails spins a tale you want to hear to the end. The Becoming is beautiful, yet underrated track. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Big Man With A Gun to me is the best you can get from Nine Inch Nails. I can’t stop playing A Warm Place. Eraser (4:54) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Reptile is one of the best records ever. I was truly moved when I heard The Downward Spiral. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Hurt, which shows, blatantly, how much Nine Inch Nails has evolved as a singer.
