After seeing Clandestino, I had to have a good Manu Chao cd. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Manu Chao. It’s natural for Manu Chao to take a stab at ‘Clandestino’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
I find myself hearing bits of Desaparecido here and there throughout my waking hours. Bongo Bong is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Je Ne T’aime Plus still maintains something of a specific flourish. Mentira… stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Music and lyrics of Lagrimas De Oro creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. In Mama Call the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. The sound in Luna Y Sol is really warm and Manu Chao’s signature voice is still very much present. I came to like Por El Suelo. Welcome To Tijuana very upbeat. Dia Luna… Dia Pena - This one is lively and fun. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. La Vie A 2 is another strong production from Manu Chao. Minha Galera is a fine track on any terms. Song La Despedida is actually a funny song. Get Clandestino and turn on El Viento if you are going to sip your wine late at night.
