Madeleine Peyroux was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Madeleine Peyroux and Half the Perfect World together. ‘Half the Perfect World’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is one of the best Cd’s Madeleine Peyroux has dropped to date. Smart music for smart people.
Summer Wind is probably the most interesting track on Half the Perfect World. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Blue Alert. Everybody’s Talking presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Half the Perfect World. River is a medium tempo tune. You can find feelings on this piece of art. I was truly moved when I heard Once In A While. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Looking For (The Heart Of Saturday Night). From the moment you listen to Half The Perfect World you’re hooked. La Javanese is one of the more up-tempo songs on Half the Perfect World. In California Raining it becomes nowhere more obvious that Madeleine Peyroux has yet to define own style. Smile - To me, this is the best song on the Half the Perfect World.
