There is so much to love about Lyle Lovett, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is the first studio album from Lyle Lovett since bad diagnosis in 2007. Now signed to Lyle Lovett’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “It’s Not Big It’s Large” leads Lyle Lovett’s back-to-school campaign. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
I Will Rise Up / Ain’t No More Cane is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. All Downhill is a fine track on any terms. Don’t Cry A Tear is one of these floating songs. I came to like South Texas Girl. If you are a Lyle Lovett fan, you will love This Traveling Around. Up In Indiana is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. The Alley Song is exquisite and different song. In No Big Deal you won’t find any flashy solos. It’s such an underrated song. In Ain’t No More Cane it becomes nowhere more obvious that Lyle Lovett has yet to define own style. Opening track Up In Indiana (acoustic) shows the best of Lyle Lovett.
