Lead single “The Song Remains The Same” and “The Rain Song” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album has some very good songs like The Song Remains The Same and The Rain Song. House of the Holy isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. If I may, I suggest “The Song Remains The Same”. That one song is amazing!
The Rain Song is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after House of the Holy have ended. Over The Hills and Far Away is astounding. Lyrics of The Crunge are precise and evocative. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Dancing Days is my favorite song on House of the Holy. All of songs on House of the Holy and have something to say letting alone D’yer Mak’er. No Quarter on House of the Holy is solid and easy to listen to. One listen to the sheer beauty of The ocean was all I needed.
