Lauryn Hill had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Lead single “Intro” and “Lost Ones” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s natural for Lauryn Hill to take a stab at ‘Intro’ considering her long-professed love for Armin Van Buuren. This album is in perfect progression from Lauryn Hill!
Lost Ones make listening to Lauryn Hill like being in some sort of time warp. Ex-Factor - I like this one. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think To Zion is my favorite song on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Song Doo Wop (That Thing) is actually a funny song. Lauryn Hill has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Final Hour - This one is lively and fun. Lauryn Hill must have run out of lyrics on the next track When It Hurts So Bad. I Used To Love Him is worth the money. Forgive Them Father pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. What sets Every Ghetto, Every City apart is Lauryn Hill’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. I was truly moved when I heard Nothing Even Matters. The song Everything Is Everything ending is my favorite… so catchy! This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Can’t Take My Eyes Off You (hidden track) is the first taste of the new album. Sweetest Thing [Mahogany Mix] is astounding.
