This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Kaiser Chiefs has. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Kaiser Chiefs on ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’. Lead single “Everyday I Love You Less and Less” and “I Predict A Riot” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Kaiser Chiefs is one of my favourite bands of all time.
The sound in I Predict A Riot is really warm and Kaiser Chiefs’s signature voice is still very much present. Modern Way - I just love it. Such hits like Na Na Na Na Naa will leave you hooked. When I listen to You Can Have It All in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Oh My God - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Saturday Night one of the best in my collection. What Did I Ever Give You - This is a very lively song. Simple and heartfelt closing track Time Honoured Tradition closes Employment on a high note. Caroline, Yes is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Album opener Team Mate is a bright, upbeat ditty.
