Lead single “Only The Young” and “Don’t Stop Believin’” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Greatest Hits is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This sixteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Journey has. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Wheel In The Sky is absolutely incredible. The song feels complete. I’ll Be Alright Without You is the albums biggest surprise. Any Way You Want It is possibly the best song Journey has come up. Ask The Lonely is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Who’s Crying Now is a song to enjoy for years to come. Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) (5:26) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. In Lights Journey spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’ is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Journey must have run out of lyrics on the next track Open Arms. Music in Girl Can’t Help It is marvelous as in all tracks of Greatest Hits. Lyrics of Send Her My Love are precise and evocative. Be Good To Yourself is so unique, as each one of the songs is.
