Since completing 2007’s ‘Put The Boy Back in Cowboy’, Jon Bon Jovi fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. Jon Bon Jovi was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Jon Bon Jovi and Lost Highway together. On Lost Highway album, Jon Bon Jovi have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. If I may, I suggest “Put The Boy Back in Cowboy”. That one song is amazing!
I Love This Town (Live From The Cannery Ballroom) is the first taste of the new album. Some call Lost Highway (Live) from Lost Highway as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Once Make A Memory (Live) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. I think I Love This Town is the best song Jon Bon Jovi has ever done. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. In The Last Night full palet of sound is used by Jon Bon Jovi to accentuate the presentation. Voice of Jon Bon Jovi in We Ain’t Strangers Anymore is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Everybody’s Broken as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Jon Bon Jovi. Any Other Day is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. We Got It Going On is probably the most interesting track on Lost Highway. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Once you hear (You Want To) Make A Memory, you will listen to it over and over. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Lost Highway - A nice song.
