This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Jack Johnson has. Since completing 2003’s ‘Moonshine’, Jack Johnson fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. When you buy a Jack Johnson album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Thicker Than Water is not something you should pass up.
Rainbow (3:23) a good melody. The song feels complete. As always, Jack Johnson’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Music in Relate To Me is astounding as in all tracks of Thicker Than Water. The Cove is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Jack Johnson ever produced. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Holes To Heaven. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. My Guru defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. I like the idea behind Honor and Harmony. No Jack Johnson song has come close to capturing my attention as Liver Splash did. Underwater Love the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. I came to like Thicker Than Water. Witchi Tai To - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
