This is the first studio album from Jack Johnson since bad diagnosis in 2005. Now signed to Jack Johnson’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “In Between Dreams” leads Jack Johnson’s back-to-school campaign. If you want to hear real ROck: Alternative, get this record now!
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Never Know, which shows, blatantly, how much Jack Johnson has evolved as a singer. I like Banana Pancakes because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Good People is astounding. No Other Way on In Between Dreams is solid and easy to listen to. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Staple It Together is a fine track on any terms. Situations is simply amazing. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. If I Could is a strong cut, one of many. Within the first few notes of Breakdown it’s perfectly clear that Jack Johnson is living this song. Once you hear Belle, you will listen to it over and over. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Constellations is simple, dignified and effective, Jack Johnson refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more.
