Herbert Gronemeyer’s debut, ‘12′, does not fit easily into one genre. This is the first studio album from Herbert Gronemeyer since bad diagnosis in 2007. five years ago, Herbert Gronemeyer briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Lied 2 - Kopf Hoch, Tanzen”. 12 is the best essence of Herbert Gronemeyer.
Lied 2 - Kopf Hoch, Tanzen - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Lied 3 - Du Bist Die is a bit different from Herbert Gronemeyer stereotypical stuff. There is gorgeous mix of music in Lied 4 - Marlene. Charming song, great melody. Lied 6 - Leb In Meiner Welt is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Music and lyrics of Lied 7 - Ich Versteh creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Lied 8 - Ohne Dich is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. After few listenings I started to like Lied 9 - Spur more and more. Lied 10 - Zieh Deinen Weg is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Lied 11 - Zur Nacht has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
