Gretchen Wilson had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. It’s natural for Gretchen Wilson to take a stab at ‘Girl I Am’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. Gretchen Wilson was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Gretchen Wilson and One of the Boys together. Check it every song is worth the money for the One of the Boys CD!
I like to sing along with Come to Bed - John Rich, Gretchen Wilson, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. One of the Boys had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Voice and instruments in You Don’t Have to Go Home complement each other. A fantastic track full of wonder. There’s a Place in the Whiskey defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. From the moment you listen to If You Want a Mother you’re hooked. Pain Killer is a bit of a show-tune. Overall a nice softer song. Music in Good Ole Boy is exquisite as in all tracks of One of the Boys. You have to get essence of the To Tell You the Truth’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece.
