Now signed to Green Day’s EMI Records, the title track from second album “Kerplunk” leads Green Day’s back-to-school campaign. After seeing 2000 Light Years Away, I had to have a good Green Day cd. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Green Day’s album Kerplunk falls to No. 2 with 399,000, a sales slide of 76%. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
One for the Razorbacks catches attention immediately, Green Day offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Christie Road one is one of the better boring ones. Private Ale is perfect. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. If you are a Green Day fan, you will love One of My Lies. 80 is a amazing sing-along. In Android it becomes nowhere more obvious that Green Day has yet to define own style. No One Knows is the most memorable and gorgeous. Who Wrote Holden Coulfield? is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Kerplunk have ended. Words I Might Have Ate is astounding. Charming song, great melody. Best Thing in Town is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Strangeland - This one makes me want to not only sing along. I believe My Generation is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written.
