Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Gary Moore on ‘If the Devil Made Whisky’. Close as You Get is an amazing album, racked with beauty.There is no doubt that Gary Moore has talent. Close as You Get constantly brilliant.
Gary Moore sings Trouble at Home in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. As always, Gary Moore’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Hard Times sets the tone for the entire album. Have You Heard is the first taste of the new album. Eyesight to the Blind is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. After few listenings I started to like Evenin’ more and more. Nowhere Fast is beautiful, yet underrated track. I can’t stop humming along Checkin’ Up on My Baby. I Had a Dream rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. A great put together song.
