The No.1’s isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Diana Ross on ‘Where Did Our Love Go’. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Diana Ross’s album The No.1’s falls to No. 2 with 193,000, a sales slide of 56%. Exciting stuff.
Baby Love rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Come See About Me - This one makes me want to not only sing along. The opening track Stop! In The Name Of Love is very much like you would expect from other albums. Back In My Arms Again is the albums biggest surprise. I Hear A Symphony can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Diana Ross is all about. Such hits like You Can’t Hurry Love will leave you hooked. You Keep Me Hangin On is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. A fantastic track full of wonder. In The Happening it becomes nowhere more obvious that Diana Ross has yet to define own style. Reflections I just LOVE this mix! Charming song, great melody. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is I’m Gonna Make You Love Me (feat. The Temptations) because the melody in the chorus is so good. There is exquisite mix of music in Someday We’ll Be Together. What sets Stoned Love apart is Diana Ross’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (3:37) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Touch Me In The Morning is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Music of The Theme Form Mahogany is gentle, never overbearing. I think Love Hangover is the best song Diana Ross has ever done. The Boss - I like this one. Once you hear Upside Down, you will listen to it over and over. Diana Ross breathes new life into the music in I’m Comming Out. Endless Love (feat. Lionel Richie) - A nice song. Bonus Track: You Keep Me Hangin On (Almighty Mix) great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.
