Since Damien Rice last CD (9) on Blue Note Records back in 2006, I have felt a massive void in my life. While no new Damien Rice album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2006 tour in Africa. IF YOU LIKE ALL Damien Rice’S SONG GO FOR IT! 9 constantly brilliant.
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Elephant is the albums biggest surprise. Rootless Tree is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Coconut Skins is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. A great put together song. Grey Room is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through 9. Me, My Yoke, and I is a medium tempo tune. In Sleep Don’t Weep Damien Rice spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Music of Accidental Babies is gentle, never overbearing. This track is a great song that still never gets old.
