It’s natural for Bob Dylan to take a stab at ‘If Not for You’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. There is no doubt that Bob Dylan has talent. Bob Dylan had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Essential Bob Dylan is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Lay Lady Lay is almost impossible to review. I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight good vocals. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Mighty Quinn (Quinn the Eskimo) is my favorite song on Essential Bob Dylan. All Along the Watchtower - a classic song. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. In Just Like a Woman the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Overall a nice softer song. Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window? rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Like a Rolling Stone very upbeat. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Subterranean Homesick Blues. Mr. Tambourine Man without a doubt is the standout song of Essential Bob Dylan. From the moment you listen to It’s All over Now, Baby Blue you’re hooked. Maggie’s Farm presents the astounding mix of instruments on Essential Bob Dylan. It Ain’t Me Babe is the song that really did it for me. The opening track Blowin’ in the Wind is very much like you would expect from other albums. Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Times They Are A-Changin’ actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Bob Dylan’s face. Tangled Up in Blue had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Forever Young has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. I find myself hearing bits of I Shall Be Released here and there throughout my waking hours. You Ain’t Going Nowhere is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door - arguably the best track on Essential Bob Dylan album. This song is dynamic and dramatic. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Tight Connection to My Heart (Has Anybody Seen My Love?) was the first single release from the album Essential Bob Dylan. A great put together song. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Shelter from the Storm is probably one of Bob Dylan’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Hurricane because the melody in the chorus is so good. Changing of the Guards is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Dignity [Original Version] is just simply stunning. Not Dark Yet - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Things Have Changed is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music.
