On the Ireland charts, superstar Beirut’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. There is no doubt that Beirut has talent. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Beirut. Beirut is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Postcards from Italy - arguably the best track on The Gulag Orkestar album. Mount Wroclai (Idle Days) is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Rhineland (Heartland) I just LOVE this mix! Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Scenic World. Bratislava - I like this one. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. In The Canals of Our City it becomes nowhere more obvious that Beirut has yet to define own style. After the Curtain to me is the best you can get from Beirut. Prenzlauerberg is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Vocals of Beirut in The Gulag Orkestar really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
