On Number Ones album, Bee Gees have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Number Ones isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. ‘Number Ones’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Number Ones is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Once you hear To Love Somebody, you will listen to it over and over. New York Mining Disaster 1941 is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Holiday is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Listening to I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You you can hear that Bee Gees has still amazing chemistry with band members. I Can’t See Nobody gives good insight into the truths. Words - A nice song. I Started A Joke - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This track is a great song that still never gets old. I find myself hearing bits of You Should Be Dancing here and there throughout my waking hours. Tragedy is a strong cut, one of many. Stayin’ Alive - a classic song. Bee Gees emotions are reflected through Too Much Heaven. Bee Gees has astounded me with this amazing track. Only one song from Number Ones named Love Me really got me. Jive Talkin was the first single release from the album Number Ones. Night Fever motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Don’t judge How Deep Is Your Love on the first listening. You Win Again is the funkiest number on the album. Ordinary Days is a fine track on any terms. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Bee Gees.
