Ivan Grach has compared writing for Beck’s new album to that on ‘The Information’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. On The Information album, Beck have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Beck on ‘Elevator Music’. The Information touched my soul like nothing else.
Think I’m In Love (3:19) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! After you’ve listened to Cellphone’s Dead, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. A great put together song. Soldier Jane on The Information is solid and easy to listen to. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. New Round (3:26) a good melody. Some call Dark Star from The Information as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I have all of Beck’s tracks and We Dance Alone is probably the most his introspective effort. After about the third No Complaints listen through, I began to believe this song is Beck’s essence. 1000BPM is one of these floating songs. Motorcade is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Information is a strong cut, one of many. Movie Theme gets you up and jumping. The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton is a fine track on any terms.
