Memory Man isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. On Memory Man album, Aqualung have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After seeing Cinderella, I had to have a good Aqualung cd. I wish that “Memory Man” album was instrumental.
After few listenings I started to like Pressure Suit more and more. Something to Believe In one is one of the better boring ones. Glimmer as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Memory Man is Vapour Trail. I can’t stop humming along Rolls So Deep. I have all of Aqualung’s tracks and Lake is probably the most his introspective effort. Although Black Hole is very melodic it is far from sad. Outside actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Aqualung’s face. Garden of Love makes a person feel exquisite. Broken Bones still maintains something of a specific flourish.
