Lead single “Overlap” and “Both Hands” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It has been fourteen years Ani DiFranco’ last studio CD, “Canon (cd2)” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Canon (cd2) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Such great and happy songs.
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Both Hands is my favorite song on Canon (cd2). Your Next Bold Move which is my favorite is a truly Ani DiFranco sounding song. Millenium Theater - Check out that bassline! 78% H2O is probably the most interesting track on Canon (cd2). I’ve found myself listening to Hypnotized back to back and back many times. Studying Stones is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Paradigm is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Manhole is cool work of Ani DiFranco. Rain Check is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. I find myself hearing bits of Swim here and there throughout my waking hours. A great put together song. Here For Now have really caught my ear and imagination. Marrow is a fine track on any terms. Prison Prism is the song that really did it for me. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I loved This Box Contains the first time I heard it. Hello Birmingham - Okay, I just talked about depth.
